Sushma, Sumangla and Dola Banarjee the three female archers from India won gold in both the 60 and 70 metres event on the opening day of the five-day Banglalink First South Asian Archery Championships held at the BKSP on Wednesday.
In the 60 metres, Sushma scored 336, Sumangla was just one point short to be placed second and Dola scored 329. In the 70 metres, Sushma, Sumangla and Dola scored 323, 317 and 317 to be placed first, second and third respectively.
Nasrin Khanom Happy of Bangladesh clinched eighth position in both events and was the highest placed archer among the six local participants.
Indian golden girl Sushma stole the show winning six gold including two team events. Indian top female archer Dola Banerjee managed to salvage her pride by becoming first in individual event of the Olympic round. Sushma closely followed Dola to bag the silver.
